Hi, I’m Inna, a professional makeup artist since 2013. I know how challenging brush cleaning can be! This isn’t an ad—just my personal opinion!
If you care about the longevity of your makeup brushes, proper cleaning is essential—especially when using a professional-grade product like Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner. This solution is powerful and effective, but it must be used carefully. One of the most critical details: do not submerge your foundation makeup brush deeper than 1 millimeter into the liquid.
Why only 1 millimeter?

Cinema Brush Cleaner has high capillary action—meaning it quickly travels upward through the bristles once they touch the liquid. While that sounds convenient, it’s exactly why caution is needed.
If you dip the brush too deeply—for example, 1 centimeter—the cleaning fluid may reach the ferrule (the base where the bristles are glued). When that happens:
The glue can dissolve, loosening the bristles.
The handle can detach from the brush head.
A disinfected brush may lose its shape or even fall apart completely.
How to clean the brush properly at home:
1. Dispense a small amount of brush cleaner into the designated sanitizing container provided in the set.
2. Carefully dip only the very tip of the bristles—1 millimeter is just about 1/16 of an inch.
3. Wipe the brush on a paper towel to remove the dissolved makeup and product.
⚠️ Important: Use a paper towel, not fabric. A soft disposable paper towel is gentler and more hygienic.
4. Repeat if needed.
5. If desired, lightly rinse with water and lay the brush flat to dry.
> 💡 Pro Tip: Never dry brushes standing upright with bristles facing up — moisture can seep into the handle or eyes and cause damage.
How do you clean a foundation makeup brush?
Cinema Secrets makeup brush cleaner is a highly effective cleaning agent—but must be used with precision. Always dip just 1 mm of the bristles to avoid damaging the brush structure. And remember: paper towels are only for drying. With the right technique, your brushes will stay flawless and last much longer.
